Ricketts Glen is known for the Falls Trail—and for good reason. Step away from the main loop and the park changes character. The crowds thin, the trail softens, and the sound of Kitchen Creek gives way to wind moving through old hemlocks.
Before you go
Arrive early on fair-weather weekends. Rock steps near the waterfalls remain wet and slippery even after several dry days. Good traction matters more here than speed.
The route
Follow the Highland Trail toward Midway Crevasse, then descend toward the waterfalls. Take time at junctions and download the official map before arriving.
